OUR PROGRAM

Tenacious House delivers a holistic, evidence and trauma informed program which offers a ‘connection focused recovery’ approach. We understand that there are underlying issues that drive addiction which also need to be addressed for recovery to be achieved and maintained.

During your time with us we want to take you through three phases of our program:

HOPE

from despair to hope

Phase 1: Foundations for Recovery

During the initial stage of the program the objective is to identify and address the main areas of concern for each individual, creating an individualised treatment plan.

In this phase a strong emphasis is placed on foundational skills such at distress tolerance, emotional regulation, communication, cognitive restructuring and allowing the body and mind to detox from substances. It is during this stage clients work towards a place of preparedness in order to move into Phase Two.

Health and wellbeing is introduced to our participants and we take this time to educate participants in the effects of both addiction and trauma on the brain and body.

Step 1 is completed from the 12 Steps.

CONNECTION

from isolation to connection

Phase 2: understanding suffering

Once the foundational skills have been learnt participants are able to delve deeper and uncover the underlying causes addiction and mental health concerns.

This phase gives participants the opportunity to process the various forms of trauma they may have experienced. We want to honour and respect our client’s stories.

During this phase participants work through grief and loss, family and relationship difficulties and shame.

They commence working on transitioning to Continuing Care in the later stages of this phase.

Steps 2 and 3 are completed from the 12 Steps.

RESILIENCE

from instability to resilience

phase 3: continuing care in community

This final phase works to support our participants in transitioning and integrating into their community.

Supported accommodation is offered to those who require a further steppingstone.

During this phase participants have the opportunity to put into practice all they have learnt with the continued support of Tenacious House.

The focus of this phase is mindfulness relapse prevention with participants developing new routines. With a holistic approach wellbeing is encouraged and future planning established and supported.

This phase has a strong emphasis on case management.
